Phase 0 Spotlight: Finance Committee

Welcome back, Kinholders! You may have noticed that we officially have our own domain now! This will make it so much easier for members to consistently access the website and spread the word, while providing a number of tools behind the scenes to help make the website more functional for us. From now on, you can access all Kinhold content via kinholdproject.com! If you struggle with change, the old address will still work as well.

Today's spotlight is on the Finance Committee, or FinCom for short. FinCom will serve an integral role throughout the life of the Kinhold Project, but particularly in the beginning phases as we work to establish the foundation of our community. Like the name suggests, the goal of FinCom will be to ensure the organization remains financially stable - providing for the needs of our members and guests, preventing wasteful practices, and identifying potential income streams that align with the vision and values of the community.

So what does this look like in Phase 0? Each committee has three primary goals for this phase, and FinCom's are fundraising, budget planning, and creating the campground business plan. Each of these initial tasks complement and build on each other. Fundraising will provide much needed initial funds to cover startup costs such as land, facilities, contractors, and lawyers. Budget planning will determine how much needs to be raised and how it will be divided, while the business plan will support fundraising via investors, loans, or grants.

Specifics on FinCom's goals and how you can help will be shared in the FinCom group. In the next few weeks, more ideas will be brainstormed and fundraising will begin. We'll also be scheduling our first virtual call out meeting for those interested in learning what we're about. For now, enjoy our new shop!
